Student ID Cards
Every student receives a University ID card when they first enrol. The card will remain valid until you complete your studies and you need to make sure you carry it with you at all times around the University. Do not let anyone else use your card.
You will need your ID card to:
- access University buildings
- record your attendance in your timetabled classes
- borrow library books
- use the University's printing and photocopying facilities
- vote in elections for the University's Students' Union
- join the University's sports and recreation facilities
Lost or stolen ID cards
If you lose your ID card, there is a £10 fee for a replacement card. Get in touch with your Faculty Registry Office to find out what the procedure is for obtaining a new card.
If your ID card has been stolen, and you can provide a crime reference number issued by the police, a new card will be issued free of charge.
Faulty ID cards
Your ID card should be kept safely in a card holder, away from your Oyster card and mobile phone. If your card gets bent, snapped or you punch a hole through it, it will probably stop working.
If your card isn't working any more in any of the above locations, you can get it checked at your Faculty Registry Office who will be able to advise if you need a replacement. If you're still having problems, log a call on the Service Desk.
